You wont believe this story
While on tour several years ago I was the opening act for an artist who I witnessed rocked the crowd with a tune he had started writing during sound check.
โBut this nuh done?โ I thought, โHim nuh finish writing this songโ
Second thought ๐ค โBut this is brilliant. If the audience hate the song I donโt have to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on a releaseโฆ..right? OK ๐ ๐
It was in that moment that
FFWD a few years later during what seemed like a musical hiatus.
I received a call to be a part of history.
I was asked to join reggae legends Marcia Griffiths , Judy Mowatt along with Sly & Robbie as part of a headlining package for Reggae on the River.
I was SUUUPPPER excited (and a shocked at the same time) because
โ Little Cherine was singing with who? You mean THE I-Threesโฆ(Iโm still sooo grateful for this moment)
โ It was also the first time in the history of the festival that thereโd be FEMALE headliners.
So, we each got our individual sets.
And I decided to perform my unreleased happy tune called #TRY.
I took what I witnessed years ago, and follow the brilliant example.
They announced my name. I walked on stage, they gave me a chair and I took up my @matonguitars acoustic guitar.
And in this headlining moment I decided to #TRY
